General information:

Welcome to the Workshop on Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks! Based on the success of the preceding WMAN workshops of 2002 and 2004, the workshop has also been organised for 2005, for the second time being held in conjunction with the annual conference on computer science of the German Association of Informatics (GI - Gesellschaft für Informatik).

Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks today are among the most active research topics in the area of mobile and wireless communication. Technical issues having sound solutions in the area of fixed networks might not be applicable to ad hoc networks. Thus, new solutions have to be found or existing ones have to be adapted to their use in ad-hoc networks. Although, the area of addressing and routing has been discussed for some time, several new solutions are being proposed. However, the issue of security in ad hoc networks is among the younger topics. This holds true also for WMAN 2005 this year, since the majority of paper submissions dealt with security issues.
